We are looking for a Commercial Director with a strong marketing and communication background in luxury hospitality to join our team. As the Commercial Director of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, a leading Hotel of the World, you are responsible for the commercial strategies and activities of the full organisation, including guest rooms, Ciel Bleu**, Yamazato*, Sazanka, Serre, the Conference facilities, the Bars, Nagomi Gym & Wellness, Nagomi Spa and Human Resources.
You will (5) direct reports and oversee the Commercial department, including the Marketing, Sales, Groups & Event and Reservations Departments as well as Revenue and Business Performance. You are part of the Management team and report to the General manager.
While you are responsible for the development and execution of all commercial strategies and plans, the emphasis is on creative, unique and forward-thinking marketing. You manage the hotel’s reputation at the highest level, and position the hotel and its facilities as the number one choice for both business and leisure travellers.
You (co) define (with MT) the brand strategy for the hotel and all its facilities to ensure a long term, profitable organisation and you are accountable for overall commercial strategy and plans to support the brand strategy. You creat
and achieve the annual revenue budgets for rooms and events as well as the commercial cost budget, ensuring that the allocated resources realize the predefined ROI and support commercial/hotel goals. You align Sales, Marketing, Distribution and Operational efforts to achieve the hotel goals and commercial goals.

- Contract: 1 year with the possibility of extending to indefinite contract

- Bonus: 3 months when the division and personal goals are achieved and the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit)

What are we asking?
- You have a proven track record in luxury hospitality Marketing and Communication of minimum 5 years
- You have a bachelor education or other relevant education
- You have excellent leadership skills and commercially driven
- You have a strong sense of responsibility and outstanding communication skills
- You write and speak flawless in English. A of the Dutch language is a plus.
- You successfully manage large and complex projects
- You are analytical and use data to drive and measure results

Case
For this position, we ask you to prepare for a case. You will receive more information about the content of the case after the first interview. You can prepare the case from home and shall present it during the second interview.
Second interview
In this interview, we will dive a bit deeper into the position itself as we will ask you questions about your competencies and more detailed questions about your previous experience in relation to the position.
